"HIDE"
A game of hockey was played ice in a small ice rink. The small ice rink was a large, windowless room -- like a conference room. I took the hockey puck from someone from the other team and passed it to a teammate, who scored the goal. I was happy to get the assist.
Actually, I was happy to be ice skating, something I had never tried during my waking hours.
Next, we stood in a circle. We were supposed to tell a sports-related accomplishment and fear. The direction of the discussion went counter-clockwise and away from me, so I would be one of the last to participate. I saw a friend walk into the room. He took off his long green trenchcoat. I thought someone would
say something about his trenchcoat in light of the recent Columbine shootings. I thought he was pursuing me, so I ran outside and tried to hide.
It was nighttime as I ran through tall grass in some neighborhood backyards. I ran down a hill to a small stream and remained still. I jumped across the small stream and walked back. I noticed three people walking toward me. I played it "cool" and they continued to walk past me. I returned, ready to tell my sports-related
accomplishment and fear: ice skating as my accomplishment and overcoming a fear, since I never got the hang of roller skating.

"HIP SHAM"
I remember a young boy, his father, and a leaking pipe in a hut. The leaking pipes somehow became an attraction. The hut became a barn and it was a hip place, like a bar, with areas to walk under and enjoy the leaking pipes of water.
Someone exposed some shady business dealings of the father. I think he felt it had all gone too far -- he seemed relieved to end the sham. A bad storm was imminent.

"ALLEY ESPIONAGE"
I went along with a woman to "spy" behind some store. It was twilight. The alley lights were illuminating when I parked my car at the end of the alley, which led to the back of the store. The woman went ahead, seeking out a group of men standing beyond the store's alley door.
Her impetuous nature caught me off guard, so I ran to the side of the alley and lay prone on the ground, hiding in the shadows of some trees.
I felt something tug on my shoes. I pretended to be asleep. After some time passed, I "awoke" and saw the group of men near, watching me. I acted like a transient and asked what time it was. Someone responded it was 11 pm. They "toyed" with letting me go. I thought they would, when their leader showed
up with a gun. He said he would shoot me unless I pulled my pants down and exposed myself. Still laying on the ground, I unzipped my pants -- I feared for my life. The leader gruffly told me that I would have to do this standing up. He implied something about violating me with a broom handle.
After that comment, he let me go but continued to follow me as I walked down the alley. He startled me when he raised his gun and fired a shot into the air.
I ran around to the store front looking for the woman. The sign on the door stated that the store had closed at 10 pm. I did not find the woman.

"À LA CARTE FORTUNE"
I remember a small line of people receiving lunch. There was no food when I passed through the line, so I waited ahead of the line. Someone from the kitchen brought out an item of bread crust with cheese melted on top and handed it to a person in the line.
That person had choose that in lieu of the regular cafeteria food item. I wished I had thought of ordering that -- I could have eaten like that lucky chap.

"WOUNDED KNEE"
I found myself in a medical-type room, with an accident victim on a gurney. His wounded knee had metal plate protections; the wound looked very bad. I did not know if he was alive or dead. A young woman slowly walked toward the medical table and looked at the man as if she knew him. She cried.
My gaze returned to the man. I noticed they had removed his leg from the wounded knee down. I talked with the young woman and another young woman in a small room adjoining the medical room. They seemed to be in a jovial mood and invited me into their conversation.
We went outside and played some game with Wiffle Ball bats, trying to hit something like a ball through a fan. We returned inside. I saw a priest wearing red vestments. He gave us a liturgical pamphlet for an imminent religious service. The priest joked that his order was not like the Jesuits,
who memorized all of their prayers and invocations.

"WHEN INJURED COWS ON FIRE ATTACK!"
I stood in a small gravel area next to a bend on a county road. I felt abandoned. The sky was overcast and dark. It stormed. A farm was struck with lightning and some fires erupted. A herd of cattle caught on fire. A cow charged me. The head of the cow appeared injured -- it was red and "pulpy." I eluded its
charge, moving about like a matador or rodeo clown.

"ADVANCED SCREENING"
I saw an advance screening for the new Star Wars movie. I wondered in the dream how I managed to see the movie ahead of time; nonetheless, I was happy to have the opportunity to see it. I remember seeing a Tie Fighter and another space craft flying side by side and bumping into
one another. My sister came into the movie theatre and argued with me about something. I took her outside and berated her for making such a ruckus and interrupting the others' movie experience. I returned to the movie.

"BIERSTADT SKYLINE"
I heard an indy car race around a track. I assume it was The Indianapolis Motor Speedway but it was much smaller. I went into a lounge with a large picture window and looked down at the track. The indy car was not going fast enough to qualify for the race.
I believe the driver was a young Asian man -- in my waking hours, someone told me there was an Asian man in a physical therapy session who was an indy car driver recouperating his damaged leg following a car crash with fellow driver Al Unser, Jr. I explained this bit of information
to my father. I walked down to the main floor with my father. He left to get us some food.
I returned to the lounge. Actually, I went several floors higher and did not realize it at the time. I went into a restroom. Two girls were inside arguing and fighting with one another. I hung my jacket on a coat rack by the door. The restroom changed to an apartment. As they fought
with one another, I looked out a large window. Outside was a beautiful view of a lake and a city -- I think it may have been Lake Michigan and Chicago. The clouds were a dark red-brown color, with shafts of auburn sunlight piercing through, illuminating the smooth, futuristic cityscape
beyond the lake. The view seemed so tranquil, like a Bierstadt painting. I found out the oldest girl's name was Athecia. I joked with her, pronouncing her name, "A-The-C.I.A." She and her sister-in-law -- I assume she meant step-sister -- were fighting over some dirty pictures that Elizabeth, the step-sister,
was not supposed to have in her possession. Elizabeth sat in a recliner and drew a comic book-esc cartoon of a voluptuous woman. I resumed my chat with Athecia, who told me her mother was a zoologist and worked abroad in Africa with a friend of mine who had studied anthropology
in college. Athecia wished to join her mother in Africa.
I watched Athecia draw a picture of her own: a small portrait of a woman's face. I complimented her on her drawing abilities, telling her I had a hard time drawing faces without them ending up cartoonish. A woman entered the apartment and went into the kitchen area. I realized that I needed to
get back to my father and the lounge. I said good-bye to Elizabeth, who jumped on me a few times where I stood -- her way of hugging me. I asked Elizabeth if her family would be doing anything in Chicago. She replied that she would be doing some homework so she could go to an anime festival downtown. I said my good-byes.
I ran down several flights of stairs. I hoped my father was not worried about my prolonged absence. I saw the lounge room door, except it said "Club Room," with a Closed sign displayed. I entered anyway and saw my father and others sitting at a long table eating and watching television.
